Summer in Mayrhofen/Zillertal

During the summer months, when the snow has melted and the mountains once again turn green and lush, the holiday region Mayrhofen-Hippach (Tyrol, Austria) turns into a paradise for climbers, hikers, bikers and all other mountain holiday enthusiats.

The are was already well known and loved by classical alpinists long before modern tourism arrived. The nature park Zillertaler Alpen, an area of outstanding natural beauty in the centre of the alps (covering an area of 372 square kilometres on altitudes from 1.000 to 3.509 metres above sea level), is full with interesting flora, fauna and geology, including 80 glaciers, three large reservoirs and mountain lakes.

It’s not just the mountains, though: The valley itself also has much to offer, not just in terms of natural beauty, but also many, many activites and sports. One things is certain: You’ll find somethingto suit you here in Mayrhofen, be it action, wellness, hiking, adventure or relaxation. And if you’re completely lost, you can always go one one of the many guided tours or get some suggestions for walks and hikes! Mayrhofen has the perfect infrastructure to help you enjoy your holiday – just hop into one of the cable cars and you’ll be up on the mountain in no time!

If things get too hot, why not visit the water park in Mayrhofen? And after you’ve cooled down, the tourist office can help you decide what to do next and make sure you’ll never get bored. Of course, culinary delights are also certain inbetween your exhilerating activities in the heart of the Alps, and your evenings can be enjoyed at a variety of cultural and entertainment events. Visit Mayrhofen and be amazed.
