HINTERTUX Glacier

Only 17 kilometres from the Chalets Helene, the Hintertux glacier allows you to ski all year round! But it’s not just about sport: the natural ice palace is a must-see. Delve deep into the glacier over 3000 metres above sea level. Guided tours are available daily.

Farm museum KRAMSACH

The farm museum in Kramsach offers a unique insight into Tyrolean farm life throughout the centuries. The exhibitions will take you back into times that have been long since forgotten, when living on a farm was its own way of life, complete with its own set of values, its own architecture and technology. The museum consists of original farm house that have been carefully restorated and are designed to take you on a journey through time.

Jenbacher Museum

This museum in Jenbach offers interesting exhibitions and general artifacts on an area of more than 700 sqm, with topics including nature, sport, history und industry.

Achensee Railway

Enjoy a ride on the Achensee mountain railway, which is more than 100 years old. Starting in Jenbach, the Achensee can be reached in 45 mins, then you might carry on for a ship cruise on the lake.

Schloss Tratzberg

A castle used by Emperor Maximilian over 500 years ago that is now open to the public and filled with original artefacts, including gruesome weapons and delicate works of art. Audio tours are available (with special tours aimed at children). 

Krimml Waterfalls

The waterfalls of Krimml are the largest in Europe (380 metres high). The Austrian Alpine Club has created a path that leads right next to this breathtaking spectacle of nature. Experience the astonishing power of water while also taking in the beautiful mountain scenery.

Planetrium Königsleiten

The planetarium in Königsleiten is – in terms of altitude – the highest of its kind in Europe. Seize the opportunity to gaze through the telescopes and to observe bizzare moon craters, the clouds on Jupiter or the Rings of Saturn.

Planetarium Schwaz, 63 km

The Zeiss-Planetarium in Schwaz is, in a way, a cosmic cinema. Modern technology will be able to take you on a journey through time and space, to distant planets, the far away galaxies, all the way back to the Big Bang. 

Haus der Völker

The only folklore museum of western Austria offers a unique insight into the collection of the Tyrolean Africa-expert Gert Chesi. Africa and its culture are the main part of the museum, while there are also some fascinating exhibits from China and other Asian countries on display.

Schwaz Silver Mines

Visit the former silver mines of Schwaz and go on a journey back to the 15th century, when silver ore was discovered in the area and Schwaz became the mining capital of Europe, leading to incredible growth in wealth, size and importance of the city. Merchants and miners arrived from all over Europe and a fascinating network of tunnels was drilled into the mountain – one of which, more than 800 metres long, you can still explore today.

Candle World Brixlegg

This unique candle museum gives you a fascinating insight into how candles are made, but also offers fascinating exhibits from the world of waxworks.

Rattenberg, 60 km

The medieval city of Rattenberg is the smallest of its kind in today’s Austria with only 600 inhabitants. Surrounded by the river Inn as well as the Tyrolean Alps, Rattenberg is famous as the "glass city". Explore the cobbled streets and observe glassblowers creating their marvellous products!

Wolfsklamm St. Georgenberg, 63 km

The Wolksklamm is a spectacular mountain canyon, over 300 metres long before it finally reaches the abbey on Georgenberg. On the way there, you will see clevery built wodden bridges as well as outstanding natural beauty, all while marvelling at the at times treacherous, yet always beautiful "Stallenbach" mountain river.

Graveyard museum "Ohne Tote", 65 km

A unique idea turned into a unique museum: a graveyard museum! The tombstones on display, with their often witty inscriptions, will make you contemplate the transience of life.

Kristallwelten (Crystal World) in Wattens, 68 km

The famous Svarovski company has constructed a park full of wonders: Experience a magical journey through 14 underground chambers, decorated with countless gems.

Burg Hasegg, Mint Museum

The ancient town of Hall was important in the late Middle Ages because of its mint – situated in a tower that has now been turned into a museum, offering unique insights into the art of minting coins.

Innsbruck

The capital of Tyrol has so much to offer – from museums to entertainment and sport facilities to activies in nature. Remember, Innsbruck is nestled right in the mountains and this geographical feature has so many advantages. Festung Kufstein

This castle is also a favourite for locals, as it is not just a museum, but also a venue for concerts in summer and a fascinating vantage point high above the historical city of Kufstein.
